I grew up in Nara, Japan, surrounded by fruit trees, farms, and generous neighbors who would bring us baskets of freshly picked strawberries, watermelons, persimmons, figs, and pretty much anything that was ripe on their farm. Fruit was part of the seasons, traditions, celebrations, and even medicine. As a nutritionist, I still believe that fruit is one of the most powerful tools we have for supporting health and longevity. Plus, it tastes incredible.

When I have a chance to meet the grand master of Urasenke Chanoyu (Hōunsai - Daisosyo 鵬雲斎大宗匠 I froze, and then immediately, I was pulled in to his peaceful spiritual world. He was so pure, cheerful, humble….., and powerful. At the age of hundred, Daisoshyo continues traveling all over the world promoting world peace with a bowl of matcha. With his straight pasture, clear and strong voice, and smile…., no one believes his biological age is three digits, 100.
